  • Good clear screen and sound. Has FM radio to allow use in noisy environments. Generally simple to use. Free map updates (but not speed alerts, which were fairly cheap). Very good response from the vendors to complaints. Hence 3 stars.
  • Kept on getting me lost and trying to make me drive to impossible places (roads in other states, through a park to get to a road, into a river, u-turn on a freeway to get to a street that did not exist (probably in another state again?)) Its favourite trick was to tell me to keep driving further and further to get to a street that I should have turned into and had just passed. It acted as if I had turned around (it never told me to), even though it knew I was getting further and further away from the street. This was 100% repeatable. The only time it did _not_ do this was when it tried to get me to u-turn on the freeway as mentioned above.

Overall: In all fairness, I am given the impression that this is just GPS nav systems: all of 'em, from other stuff I have read and heard, often accompanied by outright derision. It seems it's a lot of luck as to how it all turns out. navig8r support are good (and this may place them above others), but I just kept getting new troubles even as others seemed fixed. No trip was without a disappointment or outright confusion. I gave up. I will not buy another make either.
