Sony makes great advanced technology televisions. This is one of them.
This Sony is quite a bit more expensive than a comparable 55"LG 3D LED TV.
Overall: Sony is said to have overcome some of the problems associated with edge lit LED lighting. That may help explain the high RRP. However, I wouldn't jump in and buy this unless it was on sale.
